What does a cyber security analysts do?
A cybersecurity analyst is a professional responsible for protecting an organization's computer systems and networks from security breaches and cyber threats. Security Reporting:Generate and present regular reports on the organization's security posture to management and relevant stakeholders. Network and System Security:Implement and maintain security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus solutions. Document findings for future reference and improvement. Security Policies and Compliance:Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. Collaboration with IT Teams:Work closely with IT teams to integrate security measures into the development and maintenance of systems and applications. Use security information and event management (SIEM) tools to analyze logs and detect anomalous activities. Make recommendations for improvements based on audit findings. Some programs may be intensive, lasting a few weeks, while others may be part-time over several months. Vulnerability Assessment:Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses in the organization's systems and networks.
